Ali Toy
| Ali Toy was born in Kütahya in 1960. After finishing at Tavşanli Tunçbilek High School in 1977, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Istanbul Technical University in 1988. He then completed his master’s degree in the Department of the Building Survey (Rölöve) and Restoration at Yıldız Technical University in 1992. Toy learned calligraphy and obtained his professional license from Prof. Dr. Ali Alparslan. He has mainly written Talik, divani and rik’a scripts, and has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He has also had 28 solo exhibitions. Toy has won 5 awards in 3 international calligraphy competitions. Besides working as an architect, Toy continues his calligraphy work in Istanbul. |
